Can you tell us a bit about your company?
TheScooterShark.com is a company driven by fun. We specialize in fun outdoor activities for families. We are currently focusing on the scooter world. We envision all families being able to get out on some type of scooter and having fun with each other.
What technologies are currently implemented or integrated in your website's front end and behind the scenes?
TheScooterShark.com uses Magellan Commerce's built-in functions and code. Compared to other systems I've tried, it's the best. What is great about our site is I don't need to know much about the technical side. It is all done for me. I do know that when we were working with our designers, we wanted dropdown menus that we could use to feature other products. They easily plugged in jQuery to do that.
Why did you choose Magellan Commerce for the project?
We looked at a bunch of free and paid services. We just felt that, after playing around with our free trial, Magellan Commerce fit us the best. I personally don't have a big technical background, so usability took top priority in our decision. Not only did we want our site maintenance to be easy, but we wanted our customers to have a positive, simple experience, as well. We felt Magellan Commerce balanced both of those needs the best.

Would you recommend companies use Magellan Commerce?
Yes, yes, yes! As I stated before, I love it because of the ease that I have using it, and I don't have to have a big technical background. But my husband is more technical than I am, and he loves the system, too. I think anyone, whether you are starting an online business or you already have one, would love using Magellan Commerce. I love the ability to use coupons and my husband loves the reporting built into it.
What are your future plans with Magellan Commerce and your site?
We are planning on upping our offerings. We are currently updating and adding more safety products. We also plan on getting more social. We are planning on having more group contests and getting people to talk about their scooters and share their creative uses for them. It should be really fun seeing how families and individuals actually interact with each other using our products. The goal is to get them to share some great ideas with one another.
Do you have any recommendations for people evaluating Magellan Commerce?
Don't give up! I know starting a business can be a bit scary. I was telling my husband we couldn't do this and luckily he convinced me to call Magellan Commerce's support team. They were awesome and they walked me through the solution to my concerns. I thought I was having bugs or the system didn't work, but it turned out I just wasn't using it right.
I would also suggest that you talk to one of their designers as soon as you can. We are so happy with the design that they created for us. And the entire design process was so smooth! It was great. I couldn't imagine a better process.
